Artist's Comments

Wanted to do something really detailed for a change. The source of inspiration is actually a weapon called "Queen's Sword" which can be found in both ICO & Shadow of the Colossus. ... Well, the name's just cool. Go figure :D
I aim for a good use of light in my pics, but goddamn, doing this stuff with traditional media is PAIN.

Ink, markers, Copic sketch, color pencils.

Wow. She's absolutely lovely. I love the intricate detail and overall character design, and how she's just pretty within her own right. Great job with the lighting, I love the way the light hits her torso and the folds of her dress. Congrats!

Damn woman O.o I simply love the colors and shadings. You made it look so good for the lightning! Only her sword holding arm seems little bit dislocated from the shoulder ;)

It's really beautiful!!! I'm going to :+fav: it!!! ^^

Personally, I adore the folds. Like sweet mother, if I drew folds like that I'd be much more content with myself. Also, the colours are melting my brain, please don't do this anymore. XD
Is this A4? Because the lineart looks really thin and... okay, I'll just move on to adoring your all too steady lines.
The only thing here is the same pika mentioned; the sword seems like it won't last in that position for long without extra help. Now that I've looked longer, though, it seems that her position overall is a bit too backwards if there isn't anything supporting her. I suppose there is. :3
Keep on the wonderful work of melting brains, girl. :salute:

Kah, I was so sure it was digital when I first saw it, really wonderful combination of traditional techniques.

Lighting, folds and detail are really stunning, as people so far have seemed to agree. Also I'd like to add that the texture of the cloth comes across quite well at some places, i.e. the surface is more lively . Did you use the coloured pencils for that purpose?

Of any sort of critique I didn't really notice the position of the sword, but I quess Alimare and pika are right about it, it's a bit unstable at least... Pity too, for it looks very fine if you leave the practicalities aside, the small hand and the angle of the wrist are very pretty.

Also the golden disc -jewel on her neck just might be a slightest bit oddly arranged, as though it's not exactly in the same angle as her skin under it... It might be just in my head, though, and I it's a really small detail even if there would be something in it.

Commented, yay for activeness. :) Wonderful piece.
